01Safe Homeowner Checks You Can Do Yourself
Before calling a technician, there are three safe external checks every homeowner can perform:
Inspect and Clean Bottom Filter: Located behind the small access panel at the lower front of most washers. Unscrew slowly and remove coins or lint.
Check Drain Hose Alignment: Ensure the rubber hose behind the machine is not bent or squashed against cabinetry.
Balance Heavy Wash Loads: Redistribute heavy towels or blankets evenly around the drum.
02When to Stop and Call a Certified Technician
Stop and request professional repair if water remains in the drum after cleaning the filter, if the machine emits grinding pump noises, or if error codes (OE, E24, F05) persist.
